XBMC skipping locally stored covers and NFO's?
#16
So I have been having the same problem, where it appears XBMC is not using the nfo, etc... I created using MIP. I am running the 8.10 build on Vista x32 using the Mediastream skin. I have tried clicking on the movie information, and clicking refresh, and that does nothing. A few of the movies all the info shows up, but nothing for the rest. Many of the movies that already have the nfo, thumb, etc, XBMC shows all N/A. Is there a way I can just restart from scratch and point XBMC to the nfo, fanart, etc already created with MIP, as I don't need XBMC to do the scraping? Please let me know if I can provide any further information. Thanks

How about you give us a complete file name example for one movie that does not work as expected and pastebin a complete debug log from when you are refreshing it.

Two movies I am testing on are named:

\\HPSERVER\Videos\Movies HD\GOTHIKA\Gothika 1080p Blu Ray.mkv
\\HPSERVER\Videos\Movies HD\HANCOCK\Hancock 1080p Blu Ray.mkv

From the Library mode, the Refresh button is not enabled for Hancock. I was able to refresh for Gothika with no results. In both cases my fanart, covertart, thumbs, nfo, etc are not showing on XBMC

You played the file instead of refreshing it ?! .. a disabled button might be due to a ongoing library update, but I am not quite sure about it. Please create another debug log without starting the player. also make sure no database actions are currently running.

I did not play any files. I simply went to the icon for the movie in XBMC (in library mode), right clicked on it, selected Movie Information, and then selected refresh. Hancock still shows as disabled, but other movies do not. Attached is a pastebin for a few more attempts:

Thanks for your help and apologies if I am wasting anyones time, just getting a little frustrated here.

OK, so I figured out what the problem was. I was running the build that is on the main http://www.xbmc.org page. I decided to try a later build, and just installed Jesters Rev 17344 build 25-Jan. Everything works fine now, so it appears the problem is in the main 8.10 Atlantis Build for Windows (http://xbmc.org/download/)

I use xbmc companion for nfo's and thumbnails for all my movies and am also having the exact same problem. so please pardon my noobishness but where did you get this "jesters Rev 17344" that you speak of. I would rather have my library update in minutes than hours!
