MCE Remote, v2, model 1039 setup - some buttons do not work
#1
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here is using this remote: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Image:MCE-Remote-2-alt.jpg (MCE Remote v2, model 1039, NO color buttons). For some reason the 'DVD Menu', the 'Record' button and other buttons in that middle row do not work (the rest of the buttons work just fine as outlined in wiki). The major thing I'm trying to make working is switching to the 'menu' without stopping the video/music (the functionality provided by hitting 'ESC' button when the movie is started in the XBMC DVDPlayer).

Can anyone post the lirc xml file or hint at the correct code that needs to be setup?... THANKS!

Vlad

I used irw to capture the codes for the buttons and then remap them in Lircmap.xml. This was my friend PC so I can't get you working file but it is easy to get it to work.

I use that exact same remote control with XBMC. You have to teach the remote control the signals to turn on your TV and to adjust the TV volume using this guide: http://oem.microsoft.com/static/Worldwid...Manual.pdf.

As for configuring the button functions in XBMC, check out my guide here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=258483&postcount=7.
