bump..,.
having the same problem... is there a resolution to this? I am running 9.04.1 on windows vista... i have two machines... It runs great on one and crashes everytime you stop a video on the other... Tried reinstalling with no luck...

Disable navigation sounds fixes this for me.

This is a known issue. Theres a ticket in for it, and several other threads exist for it.
As AzzX mentioned, disabling nav sounds works (it worked for me, too) or you can remap the SPACE key to the same function as P. This will pause playback rather than stop it. I tested this out and works too.

I've noticed this problem for a long time too.. Disabling nav sounds works for me too tho.
Not trying to sound impatient, I wonder if it is a really hard thing to fix, since this bug has been around for so long, and seems like a pretty common problem.
