I would also recommend nvidia because of multichannel LPCM which the 3200 and 3300 do not have. The have only stereo, so if you have AC3 encoded files, you are only going to get 2 channels.

wouldn't the boards with HDMI support multichannel LPCM?

Yes for me, for a little difference in the price that in the moment of building a brand new HTPC was not a big problem, in order to avoid future problems or limitations. Mi HTPC has Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard,AMD 5050e processor, 2 GB of RAM, Blue-ray reader, and various Tacens and Scythe coolers wich makes it very ver very silence, all in a Nox-live case with imon remote... it´s perfect for me.
