still trying to figure out the media flag stuff...MIP ect.

So as of now stark is only using the movie file name for the source and the movie name correct?

Everything else is coming from inside the nfo file?

I don't want to change my movie file names.

90% of my movies are in this form

movies3/movie name
moviename_bluray.mkv
moviename.tbn
moviename.mkv-big.png
moviename-fanart.jpg
moviename.nfo

so can some one walk me through the process of using MIP to edit the nfo files? I messed with it for about 30 minutes last night. I added my movie directory. It then wants to download all these fanart and poster files. I don't need that. I would click on the movie name on the left then let it load. Then when all the info on the right was right I clicked save and it said saving to nfo or something along those lines. I still don't have flags for the movies I did this to though. The only flag that is displayed is the source flag.

This morning I was thinking, Do I need to rescan the movies or something?

Paste one of your nfos that you created in a reply please.

thats how i do it...

klick "display" at the top...
then i load all my movies, klick auto-pilot and then update media info only

ah, and in the settings, at global, klick on "support skin based flagging"

then it takes a lil while and all my nfo's are perfect Big Grin

tried the same, but MIP renamed all my existing nfo's and made new ones, with ONLY info about the media itself. I'm missing all info concerning the movie: director, rating, plot, etc. When I update completely, (without posters and fanart, I don't trust MIP with that) nfo's are still not filled correctly. I must be doing something wrong. Any tips?

Currently the best solution is to have Stark read the media information stored in the studio tag.

You'll notice with your nfo the studio tag only has the studio.

<studio>Walt Disney Pictures</studio>

You probably just overlooked the option to have MIP actually store the data in studio tag.
Go to the settings and under general you will see it. Sorry I forget the exact name of the option right now.

maybe just forgot to mark "support skin based flagging"?

Yeah that sounds like what it is called.

support skin based flagging

Check that option then re-run auto pilot with media information only and that should update your nfos accordingly.

I am cruising through the settings here and I must be missing that option.

The wiki may not have been updated yet. It is in the settings though. Are you running the latest MIP?

I'm pretty sure 2861 is the most current version available.
