As promised...my list of dumb questions has started.

I have been thro the searches , wiki etc but still cant see anything useful on the following :-

1. My wireless keyboard occaisionally hangs in xbmc yet works fine in all
other sw. when it hangs I use alt+f4 to shutdown xbmc and the mouse
works fine. Is this a known issue ?? Any thoughts ?

2. Is there an option to add application launches to xbmc. what im trying to
do is say launch firefox or google earth from within the xbmc sw.

3. Just downloaded Aeon skin as this i hope will resolve some of my other q's
regarding the interface as been using the default skin....where/how do i
add the skin??

Many thanks all. I must say a great looking piece of kit you have here, been using MCE and latterly Media Portal both of which (IMHO) try and do too much for me and were over-complicated....please dont let this happen to xbmc guys.

1. No clue.

2. Leo2 is currently working to add some native support to this area, but for now your best hope is Launcher.

3. This is slightly out of date, but here is the wiki entry on adding skins.

The main difference is in whether you did the default or portable install when initially installing XBMC. Assuming you did the default install, look here for where your skin folder should be (hint: It's in the same folder as the debug log).

Cheers for the reply,

The launcher app looks just the ticket and going back to my initial post about keeping XBMC lean I can see the merits of it being an optional plug in

I had looked at the wiki skins section but missed the entry about where they go DOH!

Install was default so cheers will nose around the system tonight

Once again many thanks...at last a media centre forum with help and little attitude, most refreshing
