Can anyone explain how to setup a second hard drive on XBMC LIVE or a linux install?

Hi Guys, I've set up a machine with XBMC once with xbmc live and a second time with a full linux install. I'm having trouble getting XBMC to work reliably with a mounted second drive.

Currently my setup is:

Zotac ION board ( single core )
a OCZ core SSD ( 120 GB ) This is drive 1
and a Segate 2.5 inch drive ( 500 GB ) This is drive 2

The lone time I manged to get XBMC to read TV shows from the second drive, it started glitching and then i couldn't read from either drive. Does anyone have any advice or having this working reliably?

You need to mount the 2nd drive using fstab.... it's quite tricky to get right if you're new to Linux.

Have a search through the Ubuntu forums, there's lots of articles there about this..

please do a dmesg | grep /dev/sd and post the output.

I'll try to help you if I can Wink
XBMC 9.11 (SVN 28275) on minimal Ubuntu 9.04
on ZOTAC ION-A (Atom330 / 4GB / 250GB HDD / Atric Switch / Silverstone LC19 Case)
