Was djh_ involved with the making of the Voddler skin? It sure looks a lot like Aeon!

I would say they've been amply warned in the forums, I'd suggest a dead tree letter to their legal department. Be polite but make them understand that failing to comply with the license means they have no right to distribute the software, should you press the issue legally. As for the credibility of that threat, note that in Sweden copyright violation is in general a criminal offense and you can simply file a complaint with the public prosecutor. I'm hoping it won't come to that, but this company is very much aware that almost all of their software stack is GPL licensed.

There was a similar incident a while ago regarding Pioneer Etap:
![]() http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...ht=pioneer Whether it's based on xbmc or not it's a mistery, but it seems like a rip off of mediastream. No one ever shined any light on that which makes it more intriguing... |

Well, it seems voddler has yet not updated the source code for the client released on jan 13th. Even though im not a xbmc dev this makes me royally pissed seeing them abuse the work of others. Why doesn't team xbmc take any legal actions? If its cause of lack of time id be happy to give Marie a call and explain what GPL terms they are violating.
Iv tried writing to some news papers hoping they will address this in the media but since its not gotten anyone killed, raped, or drug charged yet they simply choose to write about other stuff. |
