Retrieved fanart is inaccurate

I can say this is happening to me too. The preview fanart and the actual fanart are too different things... very frustrating Sad I have been using EMM to get it accurate Smile
I love my Mac Mini :;):

One presumes it also happens with thumbnails. They're using the same regexp.

Yea, I've resorted to downloading the images I like off of themoviedb and then setting them manually through XBMC by browsing. Takes time but it gets the job done for now.

I also see this with 9.11 Beta 1 on Ubuntu 9.10. Some movies seem fine, others have problems. It seems that if a movie has problems, ALL of the fanart for that movie is wrong, not just one or two.

The Hunt for Red October and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest both exhibit this problem.

Fixed in r25557. You can grab the updated scraper from:

http://trac.xbmc.org/browser/branches/9....n/tmdb.xml

Click the "Original format" link at the bottom of the page. It goes in system/scrapers/video/common.

Cheers,
Jonathan

When I pick another fanart, it won't replace the original one.

The log file says:
Download: http://images.themoviedb.org/backdrops/1...34c5bc.tbn

Does it go in "Pictures"? I think it has to be "Video", right?

The log file says a lot of other things. That particular line is just downloading the thumbnail to display in the filebrowser dialog.

The actual fanart download comes further down the log.

It still doesn't work right for me. When I search for Shrink, it gives me 1 result. themoviedb has 2:
http://www.themoviedb.org/movie/22640/backdrops

In the results the thumb shown is for the second fanart, but it will download the first. I have the new scraper, and just tried revision 25561, which has the same problem. There is nothing to see in the log, only that it is downloading the wrong fanart poster:

Ok, I had to refresh the movies where it went wrong. After an information refresh, everything is working great!!

Thanks for the quick fix!

This has happened with me -- using 9.11 beta 1 -- for at least the following movies:

Metropolis (1927)
Amores Perros (2000)
El Mariachi (1992)
LA Confidential (1997)
