Reccommendations for small XBMC linux box
#1
It's been a while since I've been in the hardware world so I'm out of the loop on all the new stuff. I'm looking to put together a small linux box to run XBMC so I can connect it to my HDTV via the VGA port to watch movies in AVI format. I have an older box that needs a new video card (AGP), but I'm not really sure if that'll be enough for a box to display movies on an HDTV via VGA. If it is, is there a minimum model video card I should go with? If not, can anyone give me some good basic specs for a box to run XBMC and play movies? Thanks

an Asrock ION 330 has a vga-out and can play everything you throw at it
and probably cheaper than custom-building one

It surely is cheaper than a custom built one. I tried putting together equal hardware for it and it was like at least $50-100 more expensive. So I reckon there's no point building your own setup unless you want more powerful hardware than get with the 330 Ion Smile
