[AppleTV] Compiling crystalhd-for-osx Lib/Kext
#61
The instructions and guides at xbmc-port-depends and in README.osx are quite clear about how to build macports for XBMC usage. If you deviate from the guide, you WILL fail at some point.

The AppleTV runs a 10.4/10.5 variant but it's 10.4 for the purpose of SDK target. You MUST target 10.4SDK and macports MUST be build the way described in the guides or you will fail at some point.

Yeah. I noticed that Smile I guess I just got confused trying to merge the two guides... Sorry for spamming.

Will definitely DL that!
Unfortunately it seems as if Cybernation didn't have the crystalhd lib on his/hers machine when he/she compiled that specific copy of XBMC (see my edit to my previous post: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=475...stcount=55). Unless I've misinterpreted the data that is.

Hopefully Cybernation will be good to us and include the crystalhd in his/hers next build, please Cybernation.
Thanks in advance! Wink

Don't. It works! Thanks a bunch!

@Davilla: Tried with a couple of files, but had some issues... Should I mail you directly or is there a thread somewhere where I can post my findings?

Thanks Cybernation but to me it also very much looks like the crystalhd stuff is missing:

17:00:26 T:2684407808 M: 3026944 DEBUG: SECTION:LoadDLL(libcrystalhd.dylib)
17:00:26 T:2684407808 M: 3031040 DEBUG: Loading: libcrystalhd.dylib
17:00:26 T:2684407808 M: 2945024 ERROR: Unable to load libcrystalhd.dylib, reason: dlopen(libcrystalhd.dylib, 1): image not found
17:00:26 T:2684407808 M: 2945024 DEBUG: Dll libcrystalhd.dylib was not found in path
17:00:26 T:2684407808 M: 2945024 INFO: CrystalHD: broadcom crystal hd not found

Or is it just me who didn't perform a certain step (of which I am unaware)?

Have you installed the Crystal HD library on your Apple TV? And loaded the kext?

I can host it for a while. I renamed the dmg, but it's the same one that Cybernation hosted. Perhaps Cybernation could post a md5sum of the original file, that way you could check.

Edit: Removed the file from my server since TheQuestors nightly builds now have support for Crystal HD and seem to be working just fine.
