But is dolby digital working for you in that scenario? Do you have digital audio out ON, and then play a dolby digital encoded file (DVD iso for example), and have 5.1 sound on your receiver. I don't. DTS works, but Dolby Digital does not.

If I play a DVD Video Ts folder, i.e. the full DVD then I do get DD and DTS where available, regardless of what the ATV setting is for audio. I haven't downloaded a movie via Apple yet so I do not know if I will get DD from this source, although I have noticed that no trailers seem to have DD.
