Maybe this is a skin issu but i try here first.

I have a large movielibrary and find it rather hard to find a specific movie, especillay when im not exactly sure of the title. So i use the Genre alot

I have a suggestion; Why not have the opportunity to select more than one Genre or even better select between NOT or AND

Example
I have categorized "DR Zhivago" as Drama, Romance, History, War

if i choose genre "War" i get 100 movies, if i instead could choose "War" AND "Romance" i have but a few movies left.

"War" + "History" NOT "Romance" would give me a completly different result.

You get the point...

Works perfect but is time consuming, the thing is that basic filtering would be a faster way. And perhaps a way my wife could use...just a suggestion..

the idea is that we will redo the library to be completely customizable. problem with all these things is that we're restricted by the interface and building involved dialogs for this would be very bad for usability. so it really needs a lot of thought to it.

Please feel free to do up some mockups of how you would expect a suitable filtering interface to work. Remember the constraints at hand - primarily that it's a remote-control centric app first and foremost.
