I am running the latest Live Install of Dharma on an AspireRevo. I have it connected to my Onkyo HT-RC160 with HDMI.

Video is fine, I have never had a problem with that. But I have never been able to get any sound output. I had this same issue with Camelot but never played around with it, hoping the issue would resolve itself with Dharma.

I have tried changing all the setting on Audio Output. I am running a 5.1 speaker configuration.

I had an issue previously where, when I was directly hooked up to a TV, I could only get HDMI sound working on certain movies.

I will post any logs needed, just let me know how or point me in a direction.

Thank you. I love XBMC and would really like to start using it as my main media center. XBox 360 just doesn't cut it.

several threads on this subject if you search, but several things could be the culprit.

do you have the channels unmuted in alsa? in terminal type aslamixer make sure nothing has an M above it.
what does your debug log tell you?

but if you search for HDMI and dharma and acer you will find your answers
