Im running RaspBMC on a raspberry PI.
i installed mednafen using "sudo apt-get install mednafen"

In advanced launcher i added /usr/games/mednafen and it filled out the rest of the options for me automatically, except for me having to point out where my roms are.

When i try to start mednafen all that appears is a circle (the loading symbol). Then nothing!
Also when i try to configure the launcher and "add items", it scans my rom-folder and seem to find everything but it freezes in the process and says "0 items added" ..

Where did i go wrong?
Are you using SMB paths?

the roms are placed in my /home/pi/roms folder on the SD card

Ok, i noticed that .nes wasnt added to the extension list.

Got a new error though. when i try to start one of the roms i manually added it says "script failed: addon.py"
I need to see the xbmc.log file and your launcher launchers.xml to identified the problem. Please could you post them here using for example pastebin servide. Than you.

No... It must work. It work like this on my Windows 8 system. Have you really created an explorer.exe files launcher based on .URL internet shortcuts? Are you using XBMC Launcher on your Windows 8 system? Could you post here the content of your launchers.xml file?

For instance if I move the Netflix tile to the lower left hand corner of the start screen, now I can press
"windows" then "enter" in succession and launch Netflix. Other combinations of arrows will give anything you want.
You can create an AutoIt script, compile it into an executable file and start it from Advanced Launcher. The AutoIt script may looks like this :

Code:
Send("{LWIN}")
Send("{ENTER}")

But as I tell you the use of the netflix:// URL must work on your system.

I'm using Advance Launcher . I haven't tried installing XCBMClauncher. Here is the launcher xml

Thanks for your help on this

That's ok for XBMCLauncher. It could be a source of your problem (because it disable explorer.exe), but that's not your case. Concerning your launcher.xml file try to replace %rom% by "%rom%" into Advanced Launcher for your launcher (avoid to edit the launchers.xml file). Also, under Windows, if you double-click on the .url file do they open Netflix?

Thanks for looking into this angelscry!

I uploaded the logfile you requested here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/66834222/xbmc_log.txt

The other file can't be found, I ran a search for "launchers.xml" over the whole file-system.

Code:

RuntimeError: Unimplemented method: executehttpapi::executehttpapi(...)

Error is due to the fact that you are using an old version of Advanced launcher that is not compatible with last XBMC Frodo version. Please install last version of Adbanced Launcher 1.10. : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...#pid647642

What have you change since yesterday? Steam executable? XBMC version?

I try the last nightly because of the loop controller bug...

What do you mean exactly by "it doesnt start properly"? At this point, if you do not have any error message, the problem is in generaly linked to your launcher configuration (path, arguments, etc...) or your application configuration (setup, bios, etc...). What happen exactly? Could you post the content of your launchers.xml file?

According to your log file the launchers.xml file must be located into : /home/pi/.xbmc/userdata/addon_data/plugin.program.advanced.launcher/

Also XBMC Frodo is actually RC-1. So updating XBMC from Beta3 to RC-1 may be also a good move.

That is strange, I have it set to get updates automatically on reboot (which i've done a few times today).
Is there a command I can run to force update?

Anyway I found this file:

Thanks again for helping me out here Angelscry!
