I am trying to move away from 7mc and have been trying out various alternatives with my Windows 7 64 system (revo r3610). I am finding xbmc much more stable than Boxee overall, and I get better plugins for UK catchup TV (via the youtube beta for 4od and demand 5, and itv player and iplayer plugins)
Basically, I have a twin dvb-t tuner, and 4therecord as my tv recorder/scheduler. It records .ts files, and I have linked xbmc (dharma latest) to the folder that contains these files. When I try to skip, ffwd or rewind some of the recordings, it stops playing and returns to the folder view. Also when i try to resume, it often fails. It doesn't happen to all transport stream files, just some, and it is fine when i play them in VLC. I understand that these files can get a bit corrupt if there is a glitch in the signal, however other players seem to handle the files fine.
