Hardware Acceleration (DXVA2) Not Playing Ball
#1
Hi All,

I was wondering if I could borrow your minds for a few minutes?!

Despite my best efforts & careful choice of hardware, I cannot for the life of me get XBMC to play videos full screen with DXVA2 enabled. There is video playback, but it only displays in the top left of the screen. The video OSD shows as normal (Full Screen) during playback so I find it strange that the video does the above? Huh

The card I am using is an NVidia 450 GTS purchased for the birth of Dharma, so it does support hardware acceleration, PowerDVD 10 is using it perfectly with no playback issues (The best I've seen my BluRay's!). I have installed the latest driver from the Nvidia website, and have checked each & every setting imaginable in the NVidia control panel. As you can guess, this is leaving me a little deflated Sad, XBMC V10 is awesome, and Hardware Acceleration working would be the icing on the cake!

Please let me know if I can provide any further details, thanks much.

Cheers EG, that did indeed shed a lot of light! I downloaded both archived and beta drivers from the Nvidia website, neither of which worked. I then went to the loft and dug out the original driver disk that shipped with the card, and hey presto Hardware Acceleration! Also how have my CPU percentages dropped, from 51% AVG to 2% AVG during playback of a 1080p MKV!

Your advice is greatly appreciated, Mahoosive thumbs up!
