The reason is to clear the much aggravating micro stutter issue from suspend / sleep modes under windows. That said, most of us have given up and just found an outside script to close and restart XMBC on suspend/resume.

All is moot of course when AE branch is merged and the error goes away.

In Windows 7 you can schedule a restart of any application after wake from sleep through the task scheduler.

I use it to restart XBMC on resume to fix the stutter problem after sleep.

There's a post about it here and when I have access to my box I can post the settings.

Thanks lttlscamp. That's a great thread and will help me out a ton. There's so many of those 'stutter after resuming from standby' threads that I tended to avoid them. Smile
