[AppleTV2] Wrong colors
#1
Hi,

I am facing wrong colors in videos for a while. Colors in XBMC menu are all fine but when i start playing video colors seems to be wrong. This came into my mind when i was watching Simpsons today. Skin color there is not like the yellow i know, its more of a greenish yellow, something just seems to be wrong there.

ATV2 is connected to LCD TV with HDMI, all other stuff like Set Top box or Bluray blayer showing fine colors, anad as i said, XBMC menu colors are also fine. Simpsons Fanart just looks fine, just colors in videos are somehow wrong ?!

XBMC 10.0-7, AppleTV2 breaked with Greenpois0n RC6

Screenshot shows even worse colors. This is not what i see on the tv screen - tv screen colors are not that bad but show wrong color

This is how the video should look like:

And this is how they look compared. TV screen is bright greenish yellow while laptop shows right yellow color (Simpsons skin color). Photo screwed up colors a bit but laptop shows right colors. This occures only when playing files with ATV2 build. PC build shows right color when connected via hdmi laptop->same tv

I'm having the same problem. I was watching a Saw movie, and noticed the blood color was pink instead of red. Made the movie not so gory anymore Smile. I'm hooked up to a Samsung LCD. Colors in the XBMC menu are correct indeed.

Hope someone will know what's causing the problem.

I'm using the latest official build with greenpois0n.

Same file played via vlc hooked to same tv shows right colors. Just xbmc seems to dispay incorrect colors and as said just in videos, menu colors show fine

if you could provide a 10 second sample of this xvid video and make it available, others could play it and see results..

you could try these free programs to trim/edit xvid avi:

Question for you guys having colour problems: Are you running the apple tv with a Philipps TV set? If so, according to numerous user ratings of the apple TV itself on amazon.de , there seems to be a hardware issue. Apple TV doesn't work well with Phillips TVs. After a while, the colors will get awkwardly changed. Link (german): http://www.amazon.de/Apple-kabellose-Ver...ewpoints=1

here's what the sample looks like on my Panasonic plasma TV. I admit, the yellow of the Simpson's skin looks very very bright yellow (too bright) on my TV. But still I imagine the colors are much more close to accurate for me here.. XBMC 10.0-7, ATV2 greenpois0n RC6

Right, screenshots are borked on atv2, the RGBA pixels are interpreted as BGRA, should be simple to fix in the gimp or photoshop.
This is what it's supposed to be:
