I was eager to try listening to my favorite tunes from NES/SNES/etc on my jailbroken 3rd gen iPod touch w/ iOS 4.1... and they didn't work 
it would appear that, at least for the Super Nintendo sound files, the specific plugin isn't ported yet, cuz I looked through the log files, and it kept listing couldn't find "snesapu.so" or something like that. I could prolly post some of the log file if anyone wants me to.
BTW SNES sound dumps have the .spc extension, and can be played in other ports of XBMC. NES Sound dumps have an NSF extension, and could also be played.
Not that it's TOO big of a hassle for me, and I'm not complaining... just puttin' it out there:-)
