Palit GT 430
#1
Hi guys, I'm having some trouble getting my new Palit GT 430 to work with XBMC.
It uses Nvidia's reference design and clock rates, so I guess the card should work fine.

Because I've read that it doesn't work with the official XBMC Live versions, I've downloaded xbmc freak's build instead, which already includes updated Nvidia drivers.
The install went smooth, and after a short time I was presented with XBMC's boot screen. So far so good.

However then it goes to a black screen, and there's nothing I can do.
Disabling the GT 430 and using the IGP got me to Ubuntu's CLI.
I already checked if the appropriate kernel module's loaded and also took a look at xorg.conf.
And from what I can tell, everything's looking fine.

So has anyone experienced similar issues with a GT 430?
Did you find a way to fix it?

Thanks for your help. Smile

cant say for sure but first thing i would do is get the drivers from NVIDIA directly instead of PALIT's Driver Disc or WebSite,,,

Yeah, I guess this is a good idea. Just to be sure.
I'll try tomorrow and report back then.

Alright, I got the card working now.
I've downloaded xbmc freak's newest build based on Ubuntu 10.10, which fixed the problem for me.
Apparently the drivers in his 10.04 builds aren't up to date.
