[RELEASE] crackle.com
#1
hi!

another plugin for your amusement, this time for crackle.com - sony's free streaming movie and tv show site.

features as of v0.1.0:
  • browse and play all media on crackle.com
  • choose your quality in settings (360p or 480p)
  • proxy support

http proxy support is only used for grabbing metadata, media is streamed direct, so you don't need a proxy with lots of speed/bandwidth. if your proxy happens to be in the US you might find lots more content Wink

it's available in my repo which is also available using the Un-oficial Repository Installer

xbox users can install from xbmc4xbox-addons using the SVN repo installer

as usual comments, suggestions and bug reports are welcome below.

enjoy!

Nice work! Hope this one sticks around.

Edited views for supporting Crackle in Simplicity.

Credit for the icons goes to the Plex team. They just fit the Crackle theme so well.

Installed on my Apple TV, but when I get to the last selection to watch the movie, it crashes and re-springs the ATV. Any suggestions?

i can't tell anything without a debug log, and i don't have an apple tv, but if it is getting as far as watching the movie then that is nothing to do with the plugin. the movie items are just mp4 files stored on an http server.

I Figured the plug-in was not the issue. Where does the ATV store the debug logs? Maybe I can pastie them, and check it out.

Thanks for the quick reply

check out the wiki for info on debug logs. don't forget to follow the instructions to enable debugging on that page or there won't be enough info in there for people to help.

thanks,

yeah, it's definitely getting past the plugin. maybe someone in the atv forum will be able to help you more? (for example i wonder if this is your issue?) i'm afraid i don't know much about it as i don't have one Sad

sorry i couldn't be of more help,

Awesome, thanks for the link. At least I know it's not the plug-in, so won't need to waste time chasing that.

I will try the other stuff as soon as I get back to my ATV

Thanks again

How did you get the nightly build? Did you just unistall then reinstall the plugin from the video addon repo?

I am having the same issue. When I go to watch a video I get through the selection menu's then it crashes before the video plays.
