Not at all :-) It may be different for different skins. I use Aeon Nox 4, and put it in artist mode, for example, call up the info page and then press the up arrow, then select refresh to select the artist (I can change skin to default if that helps).

RE: [Release] Universal Scraper for Music Artists - Fug1 - 2013-02-07

Oh, that's cool...I didn't know you could do that!

Ideally, I'd like to implement something that would be portable, for those cases where I move my library to other XBMC instances. Is there anything on the library side (.nfo file, id3 metadata, etc) that can be used to override the Universal scraper for artist info?

I also wonder if it would be possible for Universal scraper to use both Artist and Album info in the Artist scrape, to improve accuracy. I have no idea why musicbrainz would prefer "All Day Green" over "Green Day" in a search for "Green Day"...it seems to need a few more "hints" from time to time.

Thanks!

Was on Eden and upgraded to Frodo but due to certain problems I have to go back to Eden.

I did a full uninstall of Frodo and a New install of Eden but it is saying add-on is broken dependencies not met , Is there any way around this ??

I too am wondering this. I'm not updating to Frodo until the Alaska skin works, so would be nice to get everything running nicely as it is.

This was totally my fault by the way. Sorry about that.

I posted in another thread but I can post here too I guess.

The Universal Artist scraper isnt being used as default on all artists (It works randomly on some artists), and sometimes xbmc scans artists using the Album scraper.

RE: [Release] Universal Scraper for Music Artists - 3by5 - 2013-02-09

I have a couple questions about the scaper.

First, I usually dislike the default fanart for artists. I have noticed the thumnail when you get artist info is usually better than the fan art, but then this image isn't available as fan art. I'm guessing this is because it's just a thumbnail and not big enough, but I don't know for sure.

More importantly, though, it seems the scraper usually grabs the most contemporary fan art. I think fans probably want to see fan art of their favorite artists in their prime, not when they've reunited in middle age. By default this is what most of my fan art looks like. Is there a way to get more control over what fan art source is used by default?

Also, I spent a lot of time setting my fan art, and then I moved my music folder, added it again as a source and scanned it to the library, and all my settings are lost. Is there a way to get my selections back?

There are several sites the scraper will grab art from, varying in quality. Fanart.tv is quality controlled for example, theaudiodb.com is not. If you're getting a bad fan art (not to be confused with fanart.tv) then it's likely too low a quality for your screen.

It will display the first fanart in the list available. If you would like to choose the fanart, then select an artist, bring up the info, and select the art manually.

I'm not sure I can help with this, but, in what way did you set up your fan art?

First thank you for your work.

This is a kind of a feature request.

I found Musicbrainz's servers availability is a bit weak. Is their a way to configure MusicBrainz mirrors ?

Sorry, not my native languague.

Yes, not tried it though:

I mean configure the mirror in the scraper.
