when the truth come out, your i7 isn't half the price of eskro's i3 afterall. it's a lot more instead.

the nano shouldn't be $700-800. you can get one from here for slightly more than 1/4 the price of your quote- ZBOX NANO FUSION SFF E350 DDR3-1066 WL BLUETOOTH REMOTE US PLUG

Well, how about this question.. Why discuss i7 when were only HTPC'n? The poster, IMHO, has the right to opinions but not facts. Fact is, the recommended builds in this forum are well within specs if your just gonna HTPC with prices comparable if not arguably the best u'll find!!

Take advantage bro believe me.. they may be frank when speaking but they are not the enemy!!Wink

op brought it up. according to his 1st post, i think he'll end up with a pre-built htpc at the end.

but when you throw the contributor under the bus with your ridiculous claim, you'll always get harsh replies. it meant no harm, but to steer you to the right track!

Nothing wrong with a prebuilt if it fits your needs.

i agree, i recommended pre-builts to many friends, nothing wrong there,,,
Custom build, definitely better, but pre-built, all good,,,,

I still think the ZOTAC ND22 is the best one though,,,
i'd be happy to have it too as a second HTPC!

I couldn't agree more! I got a Revo 3610 thanks to your advice last year, and couldn't be happier. I still believe it's the best value for anyone who isn't gonna use streaming sites (Hulu, Netflix, etc.) With Sick, Couch, & SAB, along with Usenet, I can't find a legitimate reason to use those sites. I just found my buddy a refurbished Revo 3700 for $220 on Cheetah Deals. I challenge anyone to beat that price for Atom/Ion, 160GB HDD, 2GB DDR3 RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Wifi, and wireless keyboard & mouse.

Plus I recently got Sick, SAB, and Couch installed on my Revo, and it does just fine.

I believe these used/refurbished Revos should somehow be included in Eskro's thread. Can I get a witness?! Rofl

That's a very good point. What percentage of HTPC users would be more than happy with 2GB RAM, and Windows 7? 7 Plus, you can always dual boot another OS. That's exactly what I do. Wink

why not? with wire or wireless internet option, you should be able to do internet streaming (hulu, netflix, vudu, amazon, youtube, etc) with it.

I've actually never had a reason to try it. I've only read posts on here that Atom chokes a but with HD content on streaming sites...
