[LIVE] no sound..
#1
Hello,

I installed XBMC on a mini desktop of mine, everything works fine, except for one thing (elsewise I would not post here): the sound.

I hear thicking sounds when I scroll trough the menu, but when i want to play an audio file (trough the network). I don't hear any music and the menu sound is gone, when I pause the music (space) the menu thicking returns. XBMC says "failed to initialize audio device. please check your audio settings".

What to do? I have tried most things, and already used alsamixer and used sudo apt-get update/upgrade.
can someone help me with this issue?

with kind regards,
Vincent

[solved]

For everyone who has problem with there analog headphone plug (not cross stream betweek analog and an other output device) maybe the things i did can help you to solve your problem as well. This is how i did it:

just remove pulseaudio (sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio)
and then set the audio settings in xbmc to: analog, downmix: on, output: standard

with kind regards,
Vincent
