l3 cache is not the end of the world..
anyways, X4 830 it'll be..

it seems that most gamers preferred x4 830 with l3 over x4 840 with more core. one of the guy went as far as replacing his 840 w/ 830 (AMD Phenom II X4 830 vs 840). x4 830 has better denab chip whereas the 840 is actually a rebadged Athlon II X2. since x4 830 is $10 less than x4 840, x4 830 is probably better investment.

As I believe, even the most current games can only utilize 2 cores, so having extra cores doesn't really helps the game except if you have other big processes running simultaneously which can utilize more cores. So having an L3 cache would be better than having more cores.

now, i wish that my e7200 die on me today so i can replace it w/ x4 830. i moved it from one pc to another pc and overclock it at 3.8ghz for so long, but it still chuckle along. :o
