Linux (OpenELEC) HTPC Build (with Pics)

So I have been thinking about what to use for awhile.
Been reading here, and other places.
Thanks to all who helped, esp Eskro and Bluray (you guys are legends)

So this is the list of current parts setup:

All I have left to get is my actual HTPC case.
The Moneual 312 (Its not available until July due to a case refresh)
And the PSU for that case.
CoolerMaster Silent Pro M2 420W

Then I will be sorted.

I chose this CPU as its low heat and power.
I dont need much if im using a dedicated GPU.
I had the box on for over 3 hours yesterday, and CPU never went over 45c, and thats with the fan spinning only at 800rpm.

I will post more pics when I get the actual case (July) and finish the build properly.

Right now I stuck it in the SFF HP case that I had lying around the office.

As you may have noticed, I didnt fit the Blu-Ray drive, as it was pushing too hard against the Ram, and Power cables.
So left it out for now, until I get my new case.

where' did u put the KOZUTI cooler?

The Blu-Ray box was ontop of the Mobo box.
But ye its pretty large

The Kozuti went back for RMA as there was too much left over junk in the one screw hole.
Causing 2 screws to be stripped.
This seems to be a common problem, as its affected a few people and lots of posts about it.

So I got the SHURIKEN in the mean time while the KOZUTI is being RMA'ed.
It is coming back now, so will keep a hold of it, until my new case arrives.
As there is talk that the Shuriken will not fit in the Moneual case.
If that is right, then I will put on the Kozuti then.

But so far, this cooler is ace!

It looks awsome.....it shouldn't take much to cool a 35W CPU!

Have you try 1080P and bitstreaming HD audio with just Intel HD2000? I'm just curious how it perform without a discrete GPU. I'm using the i5 with HD2000. It can playback 1080P great, but I don't have AVR connect to it. I cannot try bitstreaming function......

What is the boot up time using the SSID ?

I use the optical out SPDIF as my AMP is a bit old now

One of my next things to upgrade.

@Ukstormer, bootup is around the 10sec mark, including bios.

You have an excellent HTPC. You might want to upgrade your AVR to match it, and it's not very expensive either. SPDIF is not going to bitstream DTS-HD and TrueHD. You can check my signature for recommendation.....

XBMC patches is for Windows only......if you want Windows 7 with license, it is very cheap ($68) from here- Windows 7
