I am moving over from my previous media player, mediabrowser because it will not load correctly for me anymore.

I am trying to get all my movies into the movie folder but almost all of them are showing up only in the files section.

I currently have all movies in a folder, and then each movie or series has its own folder containig the avi video as well as poster art, background and metadata from mediacentermaster.

As far as I can tell the only ones that are showing up as movies are ones that I burned from DVDs using a simple rip program, whereas my downloaded content doesnt show up in the movie section?

I suggest you look at this:

Your downloaded movies might not have the exact name as in the scraper.
But your folders might, so try this:

use folder names for look ups
Movies are in separate folders that match the movie title

Because the metadata from the previous mediacenter will most likely be ignored.
