On my living room machine (Mac mini, Kubuntu 8.04) I'm finding that the KDE mouse cursor does not reliably disappear when running XBMC with enable mouse unchecked in settings. If I close XBMC then restart it, the mouse cursor is gone.

Following up, the mouse cursor problem goes away if I do not autostart XboxMediaCenter from my $HOME/.kde/Autostart script.

I worked around my problem by using a program called unclutter, which hides the mouse cursor after so much inactivity. Does this really happen to no one else?

I can only imagine this is an issue with kde. Why not just ditch it and give XBMC the whole xsession? Or at least use a much lighter WM.

Sounds like SDL/KDE problem. Not much we can do after we tell SDL to hide it (As we always do because XBMC render it's own mousecursor so the O/S one isn't necessary)

I have this same problem occasionally on Kubuntu. Might look into "unclutter".
