I dont think that would be the problem I dont use bootcamp but thanks..

anyway the problem persist even after downgrade to svn 22269 sometime less and sometimes more but is annoying as hell..

this is the latest pastebin from today

this happen with almost any videofile the above pastebin is from Transformers mediainfo

from time to time skips a lot at least if someone can tell me what the errors in the pastebin means.

settings

vsync = always enable
refresh rate = enable
render mode = auto
sync to display = enable
av sync method = audio clock

please need ideas , is the computer running the xbmc? Is the computer serving the media ? What ?

set "sync to display = disable"

and next time, please don't trim xbmc.log, there's info at the beginning that we like to check.

I cut the lines that state whats loading and stuff and left the errors because pastebin didn't let me post the whole log it gave me an error...

Does the graphic card have anything to do with this at all, right now am using xbmc on a macbook pro that have an ATI Radeon X1600 with 128mb, I do want a mac mini but not if it behave like this at least the mac mini I want have an Nvidia GeForce 9400M .

I would like very much to understand those numbers at least the non-obvious ones or what I should be looking for.

LOL, I have many. Kind hard to develop for XBMC for Mac without one.

2.4GHz C2D MacBook (nvidia chipset)
2.0GHz C2D MacBook (intel chipset)
1.6GHz CD MacMini (intel chipset)

Runs fine except when I break something. Can you give a better description of the problem. Make sure you turn off "sync to display" to eliminate that. Are these local files or feeding from some server ?

lol, I bet it is. yours running fine with the latest svn ? maybe is the shitty video card

ok the problem is the annoying as hell hiccups, jumps, skips, stutter whatever you want to call it when the video have a lot of actions and/or camera panning; I dont know if it is frames dropping or I dont know. I will try later to take a video capture of the problem.

the files are served from a home server
in a wired network

Ok today I try with "sync to display" off, it almost eliminate the problem but after watching exactly 3 episodes in HD in the forth it start jump a little not much but it was noticeable at least for me, this is the log and screenshot when it start happens. after take this I shut down xbmc and relaunched again play the same video the same thing, shutdown and relaunch for second time and it played fine.

I notice FPS in the OSD shows 19.96, if the internal player can sustain the frame rate, it will drop frames to keep up. CPU shows 59 percent, plenty left unless something else is taking CPU load.

Play a video and watch the OSD for FPS and CPU.

Also run top from a termaial window and see if you really have the CPU idling or if something else is loading it. "top -o cpu" will sort by CPU load.

I have the exact same issues since the beginning where I have my Apple TV.

If you need anything from my side let me know and i'll post it.

Since you don't post any details I can only assume that you are also playing 720p video but on the AppleTV instead of a MacMini. Unless the 720p video content is encoded L3.1 profile, you don't have the ponies.

From below "Play a video and watch the OSD for FPS and CPU.", if CPU saturates, game over.

@davilla

Hi,

I have a similar problem on my ATV. if I restart the ATV it will be fine for about 2-3 movies/episodes and then it will gradually get worse. All the files are playing through usb HDD. one thing I have noticed is that when it "stutters" the light on HDD will start blinking. It makes me believe that the XBMC has not cached enough or the HDD has gone to sleep and it was too slow to wake up...it is almost as if the player paused and waiting for the buffer...If that makes any sense at all.

I am on:
- 2.4 ATV(nito for USB support)
- XBMC is "nightly" r23282 (but it has been happening with most of the builds)
- Transparency! 2.01 skin(other skins dont make any difference)

edit: I have just enabled the Debug logging and it shows the FreeMem 18/256MB, FPS24.0, CPU-Total 0% CPU-XBMC 27.30%

by the time I finished typing this FreeMem 18/256MB has gone down to FreeMem 3/256MB , it is still not stuttering.

Here is the XBMC.log, http://pastebin.com/m78830274 and xbmc.old.log from when it was stuttering

Thanks

this is a screenshot with the same video file when switching to full screen FPS drop to 17-19

Image

in the smaller screen it runs super perfect as you can see.....this is the pastebin of the switch between full screen and smaller screen

xbmc.log has this;

ERROR: SQLite: Field not found: Interleaved
ERROR: GetVideoSettings failed

will look into that.

What renderer are you using? ARB or the GL one?

wow you got me, If you mean the Render Method I think the setting is in Auto Detect.

Thanks BTW.

Manually try the ARB and GL methods, maybe it's picking the wrong one.

damn it !!! this is with the ARB manually selected. I first select the GSL shaders and it start to stutter.

I will make a few more test later on....like play a few episodes in a row and see how it behave.

BTW what would be the perfect setting in a/v sync method:
*audio clock
*video clock(drop,dupe audio) or
*video clock(resample audio)
(mine is at audio clock)
