Doing a project for a guy I work with.
He has an interesting idea.
He wants to hang a TV in his window and have this happen...
-TV faces the street.
-When on, TV streams a loop of:
1) Jumbo characters indicating current outside temperature
2) Jumbo characters indicating current time
3) A video from his library
4) A jumbo RSS feed from say... CNN.
Anything out there that can do this?

I think 'the video from his library' unless home made will be breaching some sort of public viewing laws type thang.

1 - 2. There is a way to get a label to show when playing a video fullscreen but I cant recall how to do it on purpose, I've done it accidentally plenty of times.
3. Have a playlist and set playback to "loop"
4. Not sure but I assume the answer to 1 and 2 would work for RSS also...

In terms of playing a video - it's home made - a videographer going through his office taking 'stock' footage.

Create a custom_whatevername_12345.xml file where 12345 is the window_id in the xml file. Then map a key to "XBMC.ActivateWindow(12345)". I use this to bring a sports rss feed while watching shows. Just make sure the file begins with "custom_" and ends with the window id.
Good Luck!
