Win Stability issues, Frodo hangs
#1
This problem i really making XBMC so much less usable to me that I maybe have to consider other options.

I am currently running Frodo 12.2 on a HTPC running windows 8.1. Tech: Asus P8H77-I, Intel 3470S, G.Skill 1333Mhz DDR3. I was previously running Windows 7 on the same hardware, same problem.

My problem: My preferred option is to have XBMC running all the time in the background. In this way I can have Yatse remote wake the machine and start music without me turning on the TV. However this setup is made difficult as the XBMC sometimes hangs when computer comes out of sleep. Sometimes XBMC hangs even though the computer have not even slept. Other times after doing other tings on the computer (streaming from various sources) XBMC hangs when I start the application.

Only solution seems to be to reboot the computer and then start XBMC. There is no sign of any problem in the XBMC logs.

I used Openelec on Raspberry earlier, but I would prefer to access all my streaming sources from one machine, and that is impossible on the Raspberry.

Any help appreciated.

You could try out the test version of 12.3 or wait for it's release, see http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=176721

Do you happen to use HDMI? if so you can try the Pin 19 trick, see

Lastly you could try using XBMCLauncher, see http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=136798, as I think that can be set to automatically restart XBMC on resume from sleep.

Thanks for the tips.

Unfortunately none of this helps. Have tried XBMCLauncher earlier, and don't use HDMI. 12.3 should not do the trick, but I probably will install it as soon as it gets a stable release.
