Streaming Radio Plugin?
#1
My Turtle Beach AudioTron seems to be flailing a bit lately. I have been using XBMC for years elsewhere in the house but now will likely replace the AudioTron (google it - awesome, simple, way before its time - Manufacture Discontinued for some time now though)

Anyhow the one thing I currently don't have a solution for on XBMC that I hope someone has an answer for is media streams. On the audioTron I had stations essentially in a bookmark list. The stations were streams I setup. I only listened to a couple streams and they were obscure local radio stations from another state. I used them to listed to Football games when it wasn't on the tube in my area.

The streams were mms:\\ streams I believe - is their a plugin or script that will allow me to bookmark the streams and play them on the Media Center??

EXTRA CREDIT:
Unrelated to the post heading and category but if you have any info on the following I would appreciate it, considering a project to slim down the form factor and noise of my XBOX.

1. Anyone have any luck putting the Xbox guts into a more appealing smaller form factor case? Prefer something I can get off the shelf and maybe do some modification on the mounts, but not real interested in doing a completely custom one-off case from scratch.
2. Anyone have a chip with LCD and what is that like with XBMC, does it allow control without looking at the TV? I use the web interface now for headless control but curious about the LCD if I am going to mod another one.
3. I keep all my media on a NAS, was considering using a IDE to CF adapter to cut out the drive noise. Is this possible, will the eeprom give me issues? Would help get it into a smaller case.

Thanks

I apologize I needed to RTFM, it looks like stream support is built in just put the stream address in as the address for the music source. Unfortunately I need to figure out how I pulled the actual stream address from streamaudio.com which wants to launch the stream in a stupid browser with embedded media player.

You also have the script Mediastream: http://code.google.com/p/mediastream/downloads/list
Nothing in common with the skin, just the same name ...
You just need ti edit the media.xml file and create entry for your stream, it also support podcast, pretty nice.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm having issues with the Mediastream script on my XBOX

I added this entry to Media.xml:
<program url="http://209.147.118.132/WOWO_AM?">
<name> WOWO AM Fort Wayne </name>
<description> Colts Football </description>
</program>

I go to the link and hit it, I get a pop up that says things like "Protocol http connecting to server 209.147.118.132" but it just cycles through some stuff like that the window disappears and I'm left with nothing, no sound just looking at the same links and they don't do anything.

I also tried a couple of the pre-configured links and they didn't do anything - but I tried those links in Windows Media Player and it couldn't reach them either so probably just stale links. http://209.147.118.132/WOWO_AM? is a good link (as of this post) and does play in WMplayer.

Any idea why its not cooperating?

Also I tried adding the url as a source in XBMC and have had no luck with that either - it seems that it does not recognize that its a URL and tries to open it like its a share or something - at any rate it doesn't work - is there a trick?
